Keep praying:
- for the development of the Core Group: relationally, spritually, etc.
- that God would supply the finances and therefore a location and equipment for the launch
- for God to widen our circles of influence and show us people outside the church to reach out to and build relationships with in preparation for the launch
- that God would open the path for my licensure through the UMC to move quickly and smoothly

Since we had talked about the idea of calling the sanctuary something different and thus possibly the Living Room, I thought of calling the church something like House. There are lots of Biblical references like "in my Father's house there are many, many rooms", etc., and it could have some sort of bi-line like: House--a church where there's room for everyone. (Except we didn't want to use the word church really, but you get the idea...) :-)
I have a possible name I would like to contribute - Sodality. It means society or an association, especially a devotional or charitable society. Its root meanings are fellowship and companion. Seemed appropriate, but I would appreciate any feedback. See you all on Monday.
Though a name may seem easy, it gets tricky. It seems like it should have a fullness that draws people to whatever it represents. It also needs lasting power and perhaps serves as a point of reference...
Trailhead - sounds like a hiking/camping store
Journey - Life is this, This is life
New Beginnings - what happens after three, five, ten years? is it still a new beginning? I also visualize babies...a good thing, but maybe not what we are looking for
Foundation - Findlay has a granting agency called The Foundation, so this could cause confusion, people may come to us for grants
The Gathering - Findlay has one of these too, people may come to us for food and drink
The Path - What if I get lost on it?
Resonate - Sounds like someone is yelling at me! Or cymbals are clanging.
Oasis - I picture a camel.
House - Can we combine this with Journey...Visit The House, A Place to share your Journey...
Sodality- I think I spelled it wrong, sorry. I like the root, but Dennis and I both read it initially as solidarity. I honestly do not know how to say it properly either.
So, Journey still is my favorite, it was the other night. Hope my visuals or thoughts of each choice don't offend or throw people too off!
The Living Room is intriguing me now...with an emphasis on Living...
I like new beginings. Only because I have been a Christian my whole life but I am always begining a new phase in my relationship with Christ. I think there are a lot of luke warm Christians looking for a new beginning. If not New Beginings then perhaps Oasis. I just see people lost in a vast wasteland searching for a place of salvation, a place to drink in the word of god and the love of Christ. This is an incredibly difficult decision. Please pray about your decision
